I have read with interest AGN Media articles about Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home.
The articles mention the veterans at the home as men.
My mother, Pat Stephens, was one of the first 1,000 women to join the Navy during World War II.
She served in Washington, D.C., and Dayton, Ohio, on the program to break Japanese and German codes.
She spent the last 13 months of her life at Ussery-Roan, and they serve women veterans there, as well.
I must say, no amount of money could pay for the care she received those 13 months. It was wonderful.
I just wanted everyone to know.
