Veterans get in the holiday spirit

The Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville kicked off the holidays with its annual party Thursday. Master Sgt. John Turner helps make the event happen with his efforts to obtain gifts for vets. “I just hope that what I’m doing here grows and continues to go on. I just want to make sure that these people aren’t forgotten, “ Turner said

Santa Clause, aka Poth VFW volunteers Edwin Dzuik, meets and greets veterans. The Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home, which opened in 2000 is named for a decorated Marine ad former lawmaker from San Antonio, is home to 160 people.

A holiday party isn’t complete without festive music, so the U.S. Air Force Band of the West Holiday Brass was happy to oblige.
