Veterans Day ceremony, blood drive in Floresville

The veterans at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home invite the public to join them for a free lunch, a special Veterans Day ceremony and a blood drive Monday, Nov. 11.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. and Lt. Col. Hector Villareal and the Floresville High School ROTC chorale will be the special guests. The Guadalupe Dance Company will perform at 11:30 a.m. and Las Coronelas will perform at 12:30, during lunch.

The blood drive will take place in the parking lot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and donors will earn a T-shirt and receive a free, mini-physical examination, as well as a shot at one of two $500 Best Buy gift cards.

The public is invited and encouraged to spend the day with the Texas heroes who live at the home.
