Retired Sgt. 1st Class Lawson Beard, a resident of the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, will leave today for Washington, D.C., to visit the Korean War Memorial and other sites.
The all-expense-paid flight is sponsored by the non-profit group Honor Flight, which will provide a motorcade escort to the Austin airport for Beard. He will return to Austin
Saturday evening.
