In honor of their sacrifice
The air of serenity that usually wreathes the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans home in Floresville was pleasantly disturbed May 24 by the roar of hundreds of motorcycles, as members of Joint Base San Antonio 5/6 and Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 23-8, joined by other veterans’ motorcycle clubs, gathered for the Basics for the Best Memorial Day Run.
Floresville Mayor Diana Garza and other local officials joined the riders from San Antonio, Portland, and Floresville, who delivered toiletries and other comfort items they’d gathered for residents of the veterans home. The event included a Memorial Day ceremony, barbecue lunch, and a chance for the visitors to mingle with the residents of the home.Tags: Floresville • Honor • Memorial Day • Motorcycles • Sacrifice • Texas • Veterans • Veterans Home
