Car show entertains veterans

AMARILLO, TEXAS — Folks enjoyed a unique car show Saturday, August 17, 2013, unique in that it had more to it than just shiny wheels and sweet rides.

It was held at the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home, it was free and open to the public.

The main goal was to bring joy to the residents of the home and was thought up a year ago by veteran and resident, Roy Ehly.405301_350628108344784_987619041_a

“We have a lot of space between the cars cause over half the people are in wheel chairs or need help walking and somebody is pushing them,” said Ehly “But it’s all for the benefit of the veterans, just entertainment to the veterans.”

Ehly said he knows the residents enjoy looking at the vehicles that come from all over and meeting with other car fans.
