Touchstone Communities® Announces Two Ground Breakings this Month for Area Long-Term Care Communities

NORTH HOUSTON, TX/TOMBALL, TX – Touchstone Communities®, a growing provider of skilled nursing and rehabilitation care in Texas and Arizona, announced two ground breakings for new communities, one called The Heights of Tomball located at 27849 Johnson Road, Tomball TX 77375, and the other The Heights of North Houston, 303 Hollow Tree Lane in Houston, TX 77090. Both communities are scheduled to open in the summer of 2013.

“We are excited about expanding into the Houston and Tomball areas, and helping to support the people and their families who need long-term care services as well as the economic growth of these two great areas by employing over 275 people,” commented CEO Stan Studer Jr. “These are vibrant and growing parts of the State, and we strongly believe that our commitment to compassionate care for our residents and to partnerships with their relatives will blend nicely into this part of Texas,” Studer added.

“In essence, The Heights of Tomball and The Heights of North Houston are literally homes away from home, from outdoor activity areas with gardens and walking tracks to indoor dayrooms with kitchens, a private beauty parlor, WiFi Internet throughout and modern therapy departments that include highly technical gyms and equipment,” Studer continued. “Services that will be offered at these two projects will be beyond what the people in the Tomball and Houston areas have ever seen,” he explained. Both The Heights of Tomball and The Heights of North Houston are 131-bed communities with 30 private rooms. All rooms have private baths.

In developing both projects, Touchstone Communities is partnering with Smithers Merchant Builders, LP of San Antonio. “The Heights of Tomball and North Houston are the latest innovation to short and long term rehabilitation design. They offer many amenities and comforts that residents have long deserved and needed during this transitional time in their lives,” David Frick, President of Smithers Merchant Builders, LP stated.

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the population aged 65 and older grew at a faster rate (15.1% percent) than the population under 45. Texas alone has more than 2.6 million seniors, a 10.3 percent increase from 2000. Touchstone Communities is dedicated to expanding its provision of health care services to the growing elderly population in Texas. The company offers the highest level of care from reputable, highly trained team members and provides inviting atmospheres and engaging activities for its residents.
