Splendora cadets share Christmas cheer with elderly

Splendora Air Force JROTC cadets brought a little Christmas cheer to the residents of Pine Shadow Retreat Assisted Living Facility in Porter on Dec. 14.

The cadets got together and purchased gifts from the residents’ wish lists. The AFJROTC Booster Club moms helped by preparing food and serving the residents.

The cadets sang carols and brought a little warmth to the hearts of those who do not have families during the holiday season.

“They were proud to be able to give back to their community,” said Major Patrick Brom, USAF senior aerospace science instructor, in a media release from Splendora ISD.

The visit to the assisted living facility allows students to live up to their missing of “developing citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community,” the media release states.
