Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home Earns Bronze National Quality Award

(AUSTIN, Texas) — The high-quality care at Bonham’s Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home has been recognized with the 2014 Bronze — Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.

The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award Program. The program honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

“I applaud the Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home and Touchstone Communities for being committed to delivering quality care,” said Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. “This award represents a real dedication to details.”

The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living works to help long-term care providers to achieve their performance excellence goals. The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Bronze is the first step, and long-term care providers must show they have developed an organizational profile with essential performance elements and that they have implemented a performance improvement system to earn the recognition.
The award will be presented to Touchstone Communities and its administrators of the Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home during the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living’s 65th Annual Convention and Exposition in October. Touchstone Communities manages five of the eight Texas State Veterans Homes across the state.

Texas State Veterans Homes provide affordable, long-term nursing care for Texas veterans, their spouses and Gold Star parents. Eight homes are conveniently located across Texas and each first-class facility is designed to enhance quality of life with a clean, caring and dignified setting appropriate to those men and women who have served our country with honor.
