What is transitional rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation is a medical specialty that helps people regain body functions lost due to injuries or medical conditions. Rehabilitation therapies include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The goal is restore your independence and your ability to go home after a short period of time.
What types of injuries or illnesses are treated at The Enclave?
The Enclave team is trained to assist patients with knee injuries, hip replacement, stroke recovery, cardiac and pulmonary reconditioning, pneumonia, IV antibiotic treatment, and cosmetic surgery recovery.
When do I need rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation therapy can occur in many settings but will often begin while a person is still in the hospital, recovering from injury or illness. Sometimes it begins before someone has planned surgery.
What happens when I’m ready to leave the hospital?
The Enclave team will send complimentary transportation equipped with wheelchairs to any hospital within the San Antonio city limits. You will be assisted the moment you arrive to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
What if I need a doctor?
A doctor is on site every day. The Enclave also has a medical advisory team that includes orthopedic, cardio, infectious diseases, nephrology, and neuro rehab.
What can I bring?
All you need to bring are comfortable clothes and your toiletries.
I’m having cosmetic surgery. Can I stay at The Enclave once I’m released from the hospital?
The Enclave team is prepared to assist individuals recovering from cosmetic surgery.
Is transportation provided if I have a doctor’s appointment?
If your care is related to your injury or illness, The Enclave team will provide complimentary transportation to your doctor.
What if I need to be admitted over the weekend?
The Enclave has 24-hour admissions. You can reach an admissions representative around-the-clock.
How is the food?
The dining experience at The Enclave includes gourmet meals, a variety of options, and daily fresh fruit and vegetables. Room service is available.
Are there things to do when I’m not in therapy?
The Enclave Activity Director will design an activity schedule to meet you interests.
Is there a chapel?
Yes, we have a beautiful chapel for individual reflection. We also have chaplains on site who are available to meet with you and your family.
What does it cost?
